Meet Kate

Hi! I’m Kate and I’m so happy you found your way to my little baking world. Baking has been a love of mine for so long, but in the last few years it has become a real passion.

I’m a lifelong Boston girl (who married a Yankees fan – I know, I know!) who has an incredibly supportive family and lots of hungry friends! My husband and I live in Boston with our baby boy, goofy dog, and two crazy cats (yes, it’s a total zoo) and the magic of whipped-butter-meets-sugar happens constantly. (Maybe too often? No…)

My parents are regulars in the kitchen. My dad makes the most amazing turkey stew with our Thanksgiving leftovers and is a total grill master. My mom can make a mean blueberry (/apple/strawberry-rhubarb/key lime) pie. With so much culinary talent in my parents, it was just a matter of time before I found my way.

I’m the one my co-workers love to hate because I’m constantly bringing in buttery goodness. I bring dessert to almost every dinner party, make cakes to celebrate birthdays and weddings, and even making buttermilk pancakes for Sunday brunch.

I want my blog to be a learning tool for the basic baker and creative inspiration for the seasoned vets. I’m not professional trained and I don’t always get recipes right the first time. You’ll see my successes and my failures and I’ll give you honest, and hopefully entertaining, commentary. Among the more advanced projects will be the easy stuff plus some savory sprinkled in.

If you’re in the Boston area and are looking for some homemade goodies for special events, parties, or just another Wednesday night, please reach out here and let me know how I can help satisfy your buttery cravings.

With that, I hope you enjoy what I have to say and bake your hearts out, for the love of butter!
